I live in Slatyfork, West Virginia. I teach cooking classes, work over the phone with clients, help run a organic vegetable farm, and teach people about nutrition through writing, workshops, and tele seminars. I have over ten years of experience in learning about the connections between food, farming, and the environment, and how their combination affects our well-being.
I studied at Shepherd University, in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, earning a bachelors degree in Environmental Studies. Upon graduation, I founded Eating with the Seasons, a Community Supported-Agriculture (CSA) farm where I grew organic vegetables, fruits, flowers, and eggs. I worked for several years at The Common Market, a natural foods cooperative in Frederick, Maryland, where I also served on the Board of Directors. I have been a practicing holistic health coach since 2009. I was the resident health coach at Healing Tree Wellness Center in Floyd, Virginia, where I taught cooking classes and nutrition workshops.
